

We got all these damn cores on current hardware going to waste. I feel like I live in the stone age most games are still 2 cores 4 threads as a minimum. Just seems like making things harder on themselves for no real good reason other then maybe saving a few dollars, not hating on cryengine just curious why? The question is why in the hell are they using lumberyard? They aren’t using Vulkan which would at least make sense. The real question here is not 11 vs 12 in New World.

The draw back is 12 is newer and still needs lots of work so you end up with problems more often.

Ya’ll are hung up on the GPU side of things, but the bigger jump is being able to leverage more cpu cores for more things. There are outliers like Vulkan which is just better from a multiple platform perspective(think not using windows). Most games at best utilize 2- 4 cores, twelve has the ability to changes that significantly. The true difference between 9-12, or for that matter 11 vs 12, or say vulkan is just better core utilizations.
